"Taking the Hill" Day

Join ASA for its third annual "Taking the Hill" Day in Washington, D.C.

Participants will attend a Tuesday evening (May 10) briefing, followed by a full day of meetings on Capitol Hill May 11. All meetings and activities will conclude late that afternoon.

Discussions on the Hill
We will cover legislative and regulatory issues important to the automotive service industry with congressional offices.

ASA collision repair members will meet with their House and Senate representatives to discuss:

  • The Federal Insurance Office and insurance reform.
  • Vehicle disclosure legislation and crash parts.
  • The EPA's implementation of the automotive refinishing regulation.

ASA mechanical repair members will meet with legislators to discuss:

  • The importance of state safety inspection programs and NHTSA's role in encouraging and protecting these programs.
  • The importance of vocational education programs to the automotive repair industry.
  • The EPA's emissions inspection programs.

This event provides ASA members with a unique opportunity
to meet with policymakers to address the key issues
facing both collision- and mechanical-repair professionals.

Registration is required and is limited to ASA members only.

"As ASA members and participants in the ASA Capitol Hill Fly-In, independent repairers have the ability to focus attention on issues fundamentally important to the industry.

"The fly-in unifies members and creates the strength in numbers needed to leave a lasting impression on a legislative level." – Eddie Ehlert, Chamblee, Ga.
